Armadillo Restaurant at Royalton Riviera Cancun in Quintana Roo

"This restaurant has only outdoor seating next to the diamond club pool which is kinda noisy during lunch time. They have some fans to cool it down. Food is above my expectation. The starter of chips and salsa was good and a little bit spicy. I've never had this kind of salsa before but I liked it. Queso fundido was basically melted cheese. It would be better, if it came out hot so cheese will be gooey. BBQ salmon was good. Margarita shrimp was excellent. The slow cooked buffalo chicken sandwich was chicken fingers on buns, nothing special about it."

"We dined here last night and it was exceptional. I ordered the lobster as I've never had it before and Ruiz came out to speak to us about our order. Him and Raul went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. I think because we had bad experience in other places on the complex they wanted to make us feel special and they certainly did. The lobster was cooked beautifully and the sides all very tasty. Thank you x"

"Seated promptly for dinner when we walked in around 7 pm. They didn’t have any high chairs but kept the kids occupied with some balloons. For appetizers, we had the chicken burrito, queso fundido and chorizo, and smoked pull pork sliders. Everything was tasty, but I found the sliders too sweet. Other two had a good balance of taste, and not too dry, as per other reviews. For our main meal, we had bbq brisket, bbq ribs, and enchiladas. The brisket was quite dry, luckily it was a fatty piece, so it was still chewable. Enchiladas were tasty. Ribs had good texture but not a fan of the sauce. Dessert were churros. Apparently each order came with three pieces and we accidentally ordered three times the amount we actually wanted. Our server was Jose and he was great, but everyone we interacted with was super on top of it and this was the best dining experience at the resort four days in."

"You must dine here during your stay! Of all restaurants on the resort, The Armadillo came in first place for my family and I. From the service to the food, everything was amazing! We had the luxury in having Jorge as our waiter and he made our experience 10 times more enjoyable. He was very professional, personable, funny, and made our dining experience one of a kind. The food was extremely delicious, fresh, and authentic Tex-Mex. I can’t wait to come back here next time I vacation in Mexico! Muchas gracias, Jorge."

"Rene was our waiter and gave us the best service we’ve had so far. He was clearly hardworking always checking in, making sure we had everything we needed, and even did some cool wine and fire tricks. Really solid service all around especially on his part."
